Hey there, fabulous Las Vegas realtors! We at Digital Femboy Promotions know you’re already working your magic, but are you tapping into the heart of your community? More than usual. This topic is really dear to my heart and I’m a firm believer in the power behind community engagement.

Some of you may know I have my Eagle Scout. If you’re unfamiliar, one of the final steps prior to earning this rank is a community engagement or improvement project that’s scrutinized by a committee.

Shortly after our drive (58 pints of blood to American Red Cross + $40k in medical supplies to MEMRA), was the Vegas shooting. All blood is used locally, and with the drive happening just a few days before, it’s possible that collected blood might’ve saved someone’s life. (Definitely makes the week-long wooziness worth it!)

OK, STOP CRYING LET”S TALK ABOUT WHY COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT IS IMPORTANT IN BUSINESS.

Why Community Engagement Matters!

Think of community engagement as your secret weapon for building trust and relationships. It’s more than just showing up at the local block party (though you should do that too)  – it’s about weaving yourself into the fabric of your community.

When you invest time and energy into local causes and events, you’re not just a realtor – you’re a neighbor, a friend, and a trusted advisor. (No “peddling of the wares” around here!)

But here’s the real kicker: community engagement isn’t just feel-good fluff; it has a real impact on your bottom line. According to a study by the CDC, customers are more likely to choose businesses that are actively involved in their community – to the tune of a 67% increase in physical activity. It’s about building that “know, like, and trust” factor, babe!

Simple Ways to Engage with Your Community

  • Charity Work: Organize a charity event (think: a glamorous gala or a fun run with a fabulous theme!), sponsor a local sports team (lots of opportunities here), or simply encourage your employees to volunteer their time. Giving back is always in style! If you’re with KW, highlighting your RED Day involvement is an opportunity best not to miss.
  • Local Awareness Campaigns: Partner with local organizations to raise awareness about important issues facing your community. You could host a webinar on affordable housing in Vegas, organize a neighborhood clean-up of one of our local parks, or even sponsor a local mural project. Contact CLV here.
  • Supporting Local Businesses: Collaborate with other local vendors and suppliers. Promote their products and services on your social media channels, or even host a joint event. Remember, a rising tide lifts all boats! Lots of your offices have vendor programs, but I encourage you to make your own since, quite frankly, the ones I’ve observed are quite shit. Implementing a Community Engagement Strategy

  1. Identify Community Needs: What are the biggest challenges facing your community? What are people passionate about? Conduct surveys, attend local meetings, and get to know your neighbors. Here in Vegas: job availability and training, affordable housing, childcare, and transportation are all needs within this community.
  2. Set Clear Goals: What do you want to achieve with your community engagement efforts? Do you want to increase brand awareness? Generate leads? Boost customer loyalty? Set specific, measurable objectives to track your progress. (Start small with your goals! For example: Add 5 new people to my database from community events by XX/XX/2024.)
  3. Create a Plan: Outline the events, activities, and initiatives you’ll undertake. Assign roles and responsibilities to ensure everything runs smoothly. Make sure to establish:
    • Contact at charity/entity
    • Contact on your end
    • Contact for all partners and vendors
    • Contact for attendees and “SWMY” clients (no-shows)
  4. Promote Your Efforts: Shout it from the rooftops (or at least, your social media channels)! Use eye-catching visuals, engaging stories, and a healthy dose of your signature personality to spread the word about your community involvement. For an extra boost, consider help to do local PR in newspapers and magazines.

The Benefits of Community Engagement: More Than Just Warm Fuzzies

  • Enhanced Brand Reputation: When you’re known as a community champion, your brand reputation soars. People are more likely to trust and recommend businesses that give back.
  • Increased Customer Loyalty: Community engagement fosters a sense of loyalty and belonging. Your clients won’t just see you as a realtor – they’ll see you as a valued member of their community.
  • Positive Impact on Employee Morale and Retention: Employees are proud to work for companies that make a difference. Community engagement can boost morale, increase job satisfaction, and even help you attract top talent.
